Elders from the Piikani Nation were in line at the Multi-Purpose centre today to receive their COVID-19 vaccine.
“Today is finally the day we are able to get our elders vaccinated,” Director of Aakom-Kiyii Health Services, Dustin Wolfe said.
Nurse lead Lan Ngo, along with Dr. Lana Potts spent relentless hours communicating with Alberta Health Services and the federal government to bring the vaccine to the community.
There is no exact date when the next shipment will arrive to the community, Wolfe says it could arrive as early as next month.
Aakom-Kiyii Health Services will provide accurate information when it is available.
