Meet our Piikani Nation Radio DJs

Oki, Niitakiko Okan (Sundance) - Hello, my name is Jared Wolf Child and I’m a storyteller straight out of Kainai from the Blackfoot Confederacy in southern Alberta.
I’ve got my education from the Digital Communications and Media at Lethbridge College for broadcasting. I have been working as a freelance filmmaker specializing in music videos, short documentaries and educational films for Indigenous organizations that explore traditional knowledges and contemporary issues.  I’ve always said that I have the face for radio so I’m excited to be on the team here at 106.3 CKPN Piikani Nation Radio to create some exciting opportunities.

Oki, I’m Sonny Smith from Piikani nation or if that's too formal I also go by DJ Sondogg. Before the pandemic I was enrolled in an all-indigenous film program located in north Vancouver, I plan to finish my studies as soon as I can. After a successful summer as a summer student here at 106.3 I was given the opportunity to stay on and i leaped at the chance. I hope in my time here at Piikani Nation Radio I can learn new skills and be a source of entertainment to the listeners.
